The end is near

Yay, the paper chase is almost over. Yesterday J and I drove to San Diego and had our power of attorney state certified. He was so good and watched Ice age two and a half times during the drive. I asked if he wanted to watch a different movie but he said no he wanted the dinosaur one ( I guess Ice Age has dinosaurs in it) I didn't argue since his most recent movie request has been Barbie Swan Lake. On Sunday Mike wrote our application letter which introduces our dossier to the officials in Ethiopia who will be reviewing and hopefully approving our adoption. Then on Monday our birth certificates arrived and our homestudy agency informed us our FBI and DOJ fingerprints had been recieved. This is great news since I have read many families who have had to wait months for theirs to clear. So now we are just waiting on our last home study visit and my child abuse clearances from AZ,NY,UT and Alberta. (Mike is already cleared except for the Czek Republic when he was there on his mission and we don't know if they have child abuse clearances there)
Our next step is fundraising. Within the next few weeks we need a total of $6200 YIKES! $1200 for the second half of our home study and $5000 for when we send in our dossier, which at this time we don't have. We are planning on having a discounted dental work day where all work is 30% off and all proceeds will go towards our adoption. This is a win win for everyone. Needed dental work is completed at a discounted rate by a very attractive dentist and money is earned for a good cause. The details have not yet been worked out but if you or any one you know live near Temecula and have been putting off any dental work needs, please keep this in mind and please help spread the word. We really don't want finances to slow this process for us and have faith that it will all come together. We will post the nitty gritty on our fundraiser when we figure them out. Thanks everyone for their help and prayers.
