Arizona Trip

So, a few weeks ago we made a long overdue trip to Arizona to visit friends and renew the lease for our rental home.... Darn this housing market... But thankfulness to renters who want to live in the home for at least another 2 years. So the week prior to our visit Jaida kept saying how excited she was and how she couldn't stop thinking about all the fun things she was going to do in in AZ and boy was she right. We were only there for 3 nights and had a lot of people we wanted to see.

Thursday night we stayed with our good friends the Fryers and went hot tubing and hung out till the wee hours of the night. Jet had a rough night and kept me up for the majority of it so in the morning Mike let me sleep in. As I was getting up I could hear Jaida coming up the stairs with Mitch saying "we have to be real quiet cause my mum is sleeping... that is all she ever does... she sleeps ALL day" So glad this is her memory of my daily activities. Silly girl.
So Friday we spent the morning with the Fryers (Shannon was so nice to colour my hair.. thanks again) then went to meet up with my Calgary friends (who had both moved to AZ). Man I miss these girls. It had been forever since I had seen both Emily and Annie so it was so fun to hang out. Jaida and Jet loved playing with Annie's girls (when they finally warmed up to each other) it was non stop playing. Kyle (Annie's husband was so nice to watch the kids while us girls got pedicures. Then it was off to Scottsdale to see the Bridges and hang out in our sweet hotel.. courtesy of a dental rep. trying to lure Mike into buying a very expensive dental machine... I guess they don't know ALL of our money is going to our Ethiopian adoption.
Saturday we swam at a few of the many pools the hotel had, trying to find the warmest one which we eventually did. The kids had a blast and I loved relaxing with Jake and Tara. We then headed out to good old QC for some San Tan Flat fun. The kids loved roasting marshmallows and we even met up with some fellow Canadians. All in all a perfect day.
Sunday we hung out in the morning then made our long trek back home. It was a very needed holiday and we were so glad to see all of our friends, we miss them all. Here are some delightful pictures... I don't have any from our first night with the Fryers... yet... and I am missing a bunch of other pictures... soon to come.
