Speak of the Homestudy...

Yesterday at 5pm we finally received the rough draft of our homestudy. (which is one word... who knew) We made the necessary changes and sent it back to our homestudy agency this morning. We are hoping they send it to AGCI on Monday (since they aren't in the office on Fridays) and that AGCI has a speedy editing process so we can get our dossier in by next Friday. I have to admit I feel a little abandoned by our adoption agency. We are supposed to have a phone call from them every 2 weeks to check on our progress. I had the initial dossier run through, then 2 weeks later (Jan. 25th) our case worker was caught up on the phone so a different case worker phoned me, which was totally fine. At that time no other calls were scheduled and I haven't had a check up call since. I have however, called and asked questions a few times. They do have one excellent excuse as well, our case worker was in Ethiopia for a couple of weeks on a mission, so I definitely can't complain about that. I guess I just feel like this part of the process is something we can control and accomplish things but not much is being accomplished. O.k... I'm done complaining and now I'm gonna go on a hot date with my lover, have a great weekend.

AGCI moves pretty fast on looking at homestudy's. I think it just depends on how quickly your homestudy agency will get it turned around. I am hoping you get wait listed this week! Very exciting! It is strange to think about just how perfect your timing getting put on that wait list has to be in order to get the child God has for your family.

It is really weird to go from talking every other week with the agency to only talking to them once every other month (one month a phone call, the next month an email).

yay! hope everything looks good! i think that's just a fluke thing for AGCI and it won't be the norm. they're usually really good about communication. probably just b/c J was gone.
