Friendly Visit

Last Monday one of my most favorite people EVER came to visit. Kathryn and I have been friends for a very long time, we spent every night of the week and every Saturday morning dancing together (Tap, Jazz and Ballet). We became very close one Halloween when I had no one to go trick or treating with. Kathryn invited me to go with her and Patti (her best friend at the time.... until that fateful night) Both were surprised I accepted the invitation but I did. All I recall is wearing a sweet Kermit the frog costume my mum had made (when we were kids) and for some reason or another Patti didn't like me... was it the costume? I like to think not. From that night on, Kathryn and I were best friends. We have been on many expeditions together whether it was camping with her family (and meeting Warren and Brad... who as if didn't love us), visiting my cabin or a spring break trip to Cabo with my family (getting so sunburned the first day that Chase cried, and we had to sit in the shade for the rest of the week...who knew number 4 sunscreen wouldn't be enough for us Canadians in the Mexico sun?) When we weren't dancing we were hanging out, watching Dirty Dancing (every Saturday between dance classes) and harmonizing to Ace of Base and many other favorites... and never singing during "the best part" Once in a while when Kathryn's parents were out of town and she was fighting with her brother I would help her escape out her window so she could stay at my house. Good times.
I sure do miss that girl and was so happy to see her after so long (it had been about 9 years... too long, but it was just like old times) Her parents just bought a winter home in Indio which is only an hour and a half away from us so I am hoping to see a lot more of her. Can't wait.
