Travel Immunizations

Oh man, I was so nervous to get my immunizations since M had just gotten a tetanus shot and he got really sick and said it really hurt and Tetanus was on my list of shots to get. Yikes! I needed 6: Typhoid Fever, Yellow Fever, meningitis, Hep. A, Polio and Tetanus. (M needed 5 since he had already recently gotten Tetanus) I kept worrying about it for weeks and would plan a day to go in but I had an ongoing sore throat for a while and didn't want to complicate things with being sick too. So this week we finally decided to get them Thursday, I was sick of worrying about it so wanted to get them all done at once. We waited till after Jgirl was done school, she really wanted to come and watch, crazy girl. When we arrived at the clinic I opted to go first to get it done and the nurse recommended NOT getting them all done at once in case I fainted. I told her I was a little nervous but had never fainted and didn't want to have to worry about it any more so as long as it was safe I wanted to get them all. I told her M had his tetanus and cried about it (kiddingly, but I think she thought I was serious) So She had me lay in the bed while she got ready and nervously talked to herself the whole time. It was seriously easy peasy and i kept telling her what a good job she was doing. So I got them all done. She made me lay there for a while to be sure I wasn't going to faint. She then told me I could take the kids outside while she did M's. As I was leaving I could hear her say "if you notice I am sweating it isn't because I'm nervous, it's just menopause." A while later he came out and said as she was finishing up she asked for a back up nurse because she was feeling really dizzy and had to sit down cause she thought she was going to faint. A bit ironic I must say. She was so sweet and really did do a good job. And they were all FREE (well, not technically since we do pay for our insurance) not even a copay, thank you Kaiser Permanente. Our arms are pretty sore now and I am sure they will be even more so tomorrow. But at least it is DONE so bring on my baby girl.
Oh ya, and I got a new hair cut...

GEEZ! and when i first opened your blog i was like, HAIRCUT! so cute! i often wish i could go that short but it doesn't work w/my hair type AT ALL. i went really short in middle school and it was like a steel wool pad and swore i'd never do it again :-) it works on you though!!!! love it!

Oh I hate shots! No fun.. The actual shot does not hurt, its the stinging when injected!
BTW I love your short hair! What a change!

Yay you're back to short hair! Not that you aren't super hot with long hair, but I first met you with short (sniff, sniff). Way to be so brave with all those shots. Funny about that nurse! Of all the luck...
