A few days ago while M's mum was in town we took the kids to Vail lake where they had Halloween festivities and a haunted hay ride. I figured the hay ride would be o.k since the description didn't give any age recommendation. Some of the scarier attractions stated recommended ages. So off we went. The kids danced, and helped judge the costume contest. Since the prices were pretty ridiculous we didn't do any of the other attractions besides the hay ride. When we were waiting in line there were a ton of kids jgirl and j boys age so we figured it was o.k. As we were getting on the wagon I started to think maybe it wasn't a good idea for the kids... but it was a little late, so I prepped them for what they might see and told them over and over it was just going to be people dressed up. As the wagon went deeper and deeper into the forest there were pretty scary, dressed up, teenagers that would jump out and jump on the wagon making crazy noises. The kids did pretty well until a freaky clown came up to our side of the wagon and picked J out. He stared at him then pointed.... then lunged toward him. J freaked but really, who picks on the 3 year old on the haunted hay ride? He settled down quickly and both kids did fine the rest of the ride. I would however, not recommend the haunted hay ride in Temecula for anyone under 10.
Since we have been quite festive this year we also decided to go to our local pumpkin patch, way better family environment. The kids loved running around the pumpkin patch, playing in the hay and doing the corn maze. Nothing however, compared to the 2 minute pony ride for $5 each. The kids were obsessed about it until we caved.. then it was complete joy. They were so stinkin cute.
P.S- Don't judge Jboys sweet outfit at the pumpkin patch. M dressed him that day :)

Awesome! Who would want to scare little kids like that? Hmmm.... ;) So I looked all over for a pumpkin patch in these parts and couldn't find anything close. Looks so fun!
